Abruzzo! The Unknown Jewel of Italy

Welcome to the "Greenest region in Europe"!!! Abruzzo aka Abruzzi is a wild and wonderful land of the unknown. From the Adriatic Coast in the East to the Apennine Mountains in the West, this region claims more nature parks and reserves than any other region in the continent. With the drastic contour of the mountains and the beauty of the coast, it's no wonder their foods consist of so many styles. The most pure, local seafood, zesty coastal oranges, lamb, chitarra pasta, legumes and of course, plenty of local cheeses. But oh, we would be remiss if we left out the brilliant mushrooms, olive oil and obviously world class wines.

Our week will start with three nights in a storybook castle on a hill at Il Castello di Semivicoli - Masciarelli Tenute Agricole.
