About The Event

Join Heathen Wine Tours as we explore the world of wine in one of the best wine regions no one knows about. Virginia has exploded onto the wine world in the last 15 years and the culinary scene is lifting it higher. We'll hang in the cellars at Veritas with Emily (winemaker and owner) for barrel tastings and tank pump-overs. We'll then have a private dinner at the Veritas 5 star restaurant on property. The next day we'll meet up with the legendary winemaker Mr. Luca Paschina winemaker of Barboursville Vineyards, the most award winning winery on the East Coast and also tops in the country. After an in-depth tasting of older vintages we'll have lunch in their award winning restaurant at the winery, Palladio.

Our days will be spent at wineries around the region tasting in cellars, vineyards and taking part in the beauty of fall. All in all we'll visit no less than 8 wineries and enjoy cider and beer as well. Our home for the time will be the beautiful, privately owned Orchard House Bed & Breakfast in Lovinston, VA. Surrounded by vineyards, lakes, hiking trails and the Blue Ridge mountains we'll have the resort to ourselves. Homemade breakfast each morning and evening's next to the lake and fire pit with friends. And if this wasn't enough, we'll call in a couple of the best Chefs in the state to handle private meals for us. 

A cooking school with Chef Antwon Brinson of Culinary Concepts in Charlottesville. A Chef driven school that takes underprivileged adults and teaches them culinary and life skills. Chef Antwon will teach us how to prepare a classic 3 course lunch followed with wine pairings. Our final evening will be spent with Chef Kyle Krieger who owns 3 of his own concepts in Virginia and led the kitchen at the world renown Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia. Chef Kyle will provide a hands on, whole hog roast and fresh trout smoked over open fire at the 100 year old barn on the B&B property. And much, much more to come.......
